When I began studying interior architecture, I thought my job would be to make rooms beautiful. Ten years of practice have taught me that beauty is the last thing to arrive. First comes listening: who wakes early, who needs quiet, where the shoes pile up, which corner gets the afternoon sun.
I started Envisage in Chattogram because I believe families across Bangladesh deserve design that respects how they really live, with room for guests, for elders, for prayer, for the things passed down and for the humid months of our climate. Foreign catalogues can't know these things. A designer who visits your home and asks can.
Some of you have saved for years for this flat. I take that seriously. You will always know what we are proposing, what it costs and why it matters, and you are welcome to disagree with me. The best rooms we have made came from those conversations.
